Queen Elizabeth II Cup
The inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Cup race was run in 1972 to commemorate the visit to Singapore Turf Club by the late Queen Elizabeth II. The race is open to horses 3 years and above and is a lead-up race to the Singapore Gold Cup. It currently runs over 1,800 metres, with a prize money of $300,000.
This year, the race will be held on Saturday, 15 October 2022.

As the name Queen Elizabeth II Cup suggests — the late Queen Elizabeth II visited Singapore twice, first to Bukit Timah racecourse in 1972 and then the current Kranji racecourse in 2006 to present the prizes to the connections of the winners of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in the two years.

JUMBO JET was the first winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup held on 20 February 1972. The winning jockey was Lester Piggott and it was trained by the Ivan W Allan.

From 1977 to 1997, trainer Teh Choon Beng won 8 titles, becoming the best trainer in the history of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup.
